Shirdi Sai Baba in the Mahaan Series

It is believed that every birth on earth has a purpose and only a few realize the purpose of their birth. And when they realize their purpose they become God’s messenger and begin to preach the greatness of Him. The one who gives up their earthly ways to spread the messages, the love of God is considered to be a “Saint”. Vijay TV after the tremendous viewer response garnered for Sri Guru Raghavendra series is proud to present the life journey of Mahan Shirdi Sai Baba.

Sai Baba of Shirdi also known as Shirdi Sai Baba is an Indian guru, yogi, and fakir who is regarded by his Hindu and Muslim devotees as a saint. Hindu devotees consider him an incarnation of Lord Shiva or Dattatreya. Many devotees believe that he was a Sadguru, an enlightened Sufi Pir or a Qutub. There are many stories and eyewitness accounts of miracles he performed. He is a well-known figure in many parts of the world, but especially in India, where he is much revered.

Sai Baba had no love for perishable things and his sole concern was self-realization. He remains a very popular saint and is worshipped by people around the world. He taught a moral code of love, forgiveness, helping others, charity, contentment, inner peace, and devotion to God and guru. Sai Baba’s teaching combined elements of Hinduism and Islam: he gave the hindu name Dwarakamayi to the mosque he lived in practiced Hindu and Muslim rituals, taught using words and figures that drew from both traditions, and was buried in a Hindu temple in Shirdi. One of his well known epigrams, “Sabka Malik Ek ” (“One God governs all”), is associated with both the Bhagavad-Gita and Sufism. He always uttered “Allah Malik” (“God is King”).

Launching on January 31st, 2011, the series of Mahaan  Shirdi Sai Baba would talk about the birth, the calling, the sacrifices, the miracles, and the sainthood life undergone by the saint. The serial will air Monday – Friday at 6:30pm on Vijay TV.
